TULSA, Okla.--The fifth-ranked Arizona State women’s golf team is tied for fifth after the first round of the Dale McNamara Fall Preview in Tulsa, Okla., Monday at the par-70, 6,168-yard Tulsa Country Club. The Sun Devils shot a 4-over 284, six shots behind first-round leader Oklahoma State.

Junior Noemi Jimenez, playing the top spot in the line-up, leads the Sun Devils after the first round at 1-under 69 on the day and carded three birdies on the day. Junior Emilie Alonso and senior Daniela Ordonez each shot even-par 70 in the first round to keep ASU on top of the leaderboard.

Fourteen of the 15 teams competing in the Dale McNamara Fall Preview are ranked in the top-25 in the nation, including eight of the top-10. The tournament honors Dale McNamara, the four-time NCAA Champion and Hall of Fame golf coach who coached at Tulsa for 26 seasons. McNamara is also the mother of Arizona State head coach Melissa Luellen and coached Luellen to an individual and team NCAA Championship in 1988.

The second round of the Dale McNamara Fall Preview continues tomorrow from the Tulsa Country Club.
