Six Softball Student-Athletes Named Pac-12 All-Academic

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -
Arizona State softball placed six student-athletes on the Pac-12 All-Academic Teams as announced Tuesday by Commissioner Larry Scott. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.

In total, 11 Sun Devil student-athletes were honored by the Pac-12 office for their work in the classroom. Four of the ASU student-athletes who picked up First Team accolades also garnered 2012 Academic All-American status this year (release here) in Hillary Bach (First Team), Katelyn Boyd (First Team), Bailey Wigness (First Team) and Annie Lockwood (Third Team).

Hillary Bach, Graduate Student, 3.61 GPA, Master's in business administration
Katelyn Boyd, Senior, 3.74 GPA, Family and human development
Annie Lockwood, Senior, 3.79 GPA, Special education and sociology
Sam Parlich, Junior, 3.55 GPA, Family and human development
Bailey Wigness, Sophomore, 4.00 GPA, Political science and communication

Second Team
Lucy Aubrecht, Sophomore, 3.34 GPA, Geography and meteorology

Honorable Mention
Dallas Escobedo, Sophomore, Special education
Talor Haro, Senior, BIS in communication and exercise wellness
