Men's Cross Country (Walt Drenth/4thYear): For the first time in school history, ASU competed as a team at the NCAA Championships, finishing 14th (391 points)...sophomore Fasil Bizuneh became the third Sun Devil male to earn All-American honors in school history by placing 19th at nationals...also scoring for ASU at nationals were senior Garrett Jensen (75th), sophomore Isaiah Festa (115th), sophomore Juan Chavira (138th) and redshirt freshman Jeremy Rasmussen (145th)...placed a school-record third at the NCAA West Regionals, eclipsing the 1984 team's fifth-place finish...Festa broke the school individual record by finishing second, six seconds behind Oregon's Steve Fein...the previous ASU record was Mike Stahr's fourth-place finish in 1984...joining Festa in earning all-region honors were Bizuneh (fifth) and Jensen (21st)...finished in fourth place at the Pac-10 Championships (84 points), matching the best team finish in ASU history (1998)...Bizuneh earned first-team all-conference honors with a fourth-place finish, second-best in ASU was ranked for the first time in school history, sitting in the top 25 all year long and climbing as high as team finish of the season was its second-place finish at the UC Irvine/Asics Invitational...Bizuneh was named the team's most valuable runner, Jensen earned the Coaches Award and Newcomer of the Year, Rasmussen claimed the most improved award and redshirt freshman Dan Bubany was honored with the team's academic award...Bizuneh was named to the second-team Pac-10 All-Academic squad while junior David Burke, Festa and Rasmussen earned honorable mention.

Women's Cross Country (Walt Drenth/4th Year): Finished 12th at the NCAA Championships (385 pts.) in ASU's second appearance at nationals, improving 11 spots from the 23rd-place finish in 1998...junior Kelly MacDonald became the second Sun Devil female in history to earn All-American honors, finishing a school-record 36th...also scoring at the NCAA Championships were sophomore Lisa Aguilera (50th), junior Colleen Burke (80th), sophomore Cody Sohn (155th) and sophomore Brianna Torres (174th)...finished a school-record third at the NCAA West Regionals, surpassing the 1983 team's fifth-place finish...MacDonald broke the Sun Devil individual record at Regionals, finishing fourth to beat out a pair of sixth place finishers in 1982 and addition to MacDonald, Aguilera (5th) and Burke (15th) earned all-region honors...ASU finished second at the Pac-10 Championships (61 points), the best finish in school history...Aguilera broke the school-record with a fourth-place individual finish at the conference meet, besting Priscilla Hein's sixth-place finish in 1998...Aguilera earned first-team all-conference honors while Burke (9th) and MacDonald (10th) claimed second-team honors...head coach Walt Drenth was named the Pac-10 Women's Coach of the was ranked in the top 25 the entire season, climbing as high as won the UC Irvine/Asics Invitational and the Roy Griak Invitational...MacDonald earned the team's Most Valuable Runner award while Burke claimed the Coaches Award and Newcomer of the Year, Aguilera was named most improved, and junior Mary Duerbeck claimed the academic award...Aguilera and Duerbeck earned first-team Pac-10 All-Academic honors...junior Amy Maciasek and MacDonald were named to the Pac-10 All-Academic second-team.
