TEMPE, Ariz.—While most of the Arizona State track and field team has the week off, members of the distance squad will make the trip to Stanford, Calif., for the Stanford Invite on Friday at Cobb Track and Angell Field.

Senior Garrett Baker-Slama, redshirt senior Steven Schnieders, and redshirt sophomore Daniel Wong are set to run in the 3000m steeplechase. The first heat will begin at approximately 5:45 p.m. PT.
On the women’s side, sophomore Adriana Olivas will run in the 10,000m at either 8:58 p.m. PT or 10 p.m. PT.
Also for the Sun Devils, redshirt sophomore Jeff Bickert will be competing at San Francisco State’s Distance Carnival on Friday, running in the 10,000m at 9:10 a.m. PT.
Last week, the Sun Devils won 12 events as it hosted its second track meet of the season, the ASU Invite. The women’s 4x400m team of Sara McDonald, LaTroya Franklin, Sarah Geren, and Brianna Tate set a new meet record with their finish at 3:33.86, besting the mark that Texas A&M set in 2010 at 3:35.27.
ASU also picked up victories in both the men’s and women’s 4x100m relays, and the men’s 4x400m relay.
Alex Hartig won the javelin with a throw of 44.50m (146-00), and each of ASU’s competitors in the men’s 1500m run set personal bests, led by Ryan Herson’s second-place 3:45.71.
Up next, the Sun Devils will round out the 2014 home slate by hosting the 35th Sun Angel Track Classic, April 10-12, at Sun Angel Stadium.
