MT SAC RELAYS RESULTS
WALNUT, Calif.—The Arizona State track and field teams competed at the 56th Mt. Sac Relays on Friday at Mt. San Antonio College’s Hilmer Lodge Stadium.
In the 200m dash, Franklin ran a personal best time of 23.53 for fifth overall, which also leads the team this season. Also for the Sun Devils, Asiah Gooden finished 23rd overall at 24.90, while ALycia Herring placed at No. 37 at 24.42.
Sophomore Josh Dixon recorded his second personal best in two weeks as he placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 15.70m (51-6.25). Senior Jordan Benesh placed at No. 14 with a jump of 14.26m (46-9.50).
In the men’s pole vault, seniors Derick Hinch and Dylan Austin each recorded season-best clearances at 5.40m (17-8.50) for second and 4.90m (16-0.75) for eighth, respectively. On the women’s side, senior Shaylah Simpson also recorded a season best clearance at 4.15m (13-7.25), for second in her section.
Junior Bryan McBride won the open section of the high jump with a clearance of 2.19m (7-2.25), while junior Edmond Baker took third with a mark of 2.09m (6-10.25).
On the track, senior Asiah Gooden tied her personal best from 2012 as she ran 11.74 for 17th, and freshman Micha Auzenne ran a personal best at 11.96 for 42nd in the field. Also for ASU, freshman LaTroya Franklin placed at 23rd with a time of 11.81.
In the hurdles races, junior Cameron Taylor placed 11th in the 110m at 14.30, while Auzenne placed at No. 17 in the 110m at 14.03. Senior Sarah Geren took second in her section and eighth overall in the 400m hurdles at 59.55.
Competition at the Mt. Sac Relays continues Saturday, with ASU’s first event, the men’s 4x100m relay set for approximately a 1:30 p.m. PT start.
