"As we have talked with Coach Myers over the past few weeks, it is apparent to us that Coach wants to make a move to be with his family. As great of a coach he is, he is just as great as a father and grandfather, and this move will allow him to be with his family more. Clint has elevated our program to be one of the best, if not the best, in the nation, the past eight years. Because of his efforts, the Sun Devil head coaching position also is one of the best in the nation and we will proceed to hire a great fit for Arizona State that continues the Sun Devil tradition at the highest level. Our list of softball highlights is extensive and will serve as a benchmark as we begin our search. Our record at Farrington Stadium is amazing, our attendance numbers continue to climb, the academic milestones and Sun Devil pride is endless and we continue to make improvements to our stadium and game experience. We appreciate Clint for his honesty with us throughout this process and for all his efforts, which will eventually result in a place in our Sun Devil Hall of Fame. We wish Coach and his family all the best on and off the field, and we expect to meet Auburn and Coach Myers in Oklahoma City in late May in the near future."

I wanted you to know that the Myers family has decided to make a move. I have been named the new head Softball Coach for the Auburn Tigers.  This was a family decision... the reason being, my sons will be coaching with me at this new position.  I am thrilled that in the final years of my coaching career that I will be able to mentor and help my sons to start their own college coaching careers. I can only hope that my sons will have the success and wonderful experiences and memories that my family has had while coaching at ASU for the past eight seasons.   Wow... LOTS of great memories!!! I am very sad to say good bye, but I am also VERY EXCITED for this amazing opportunity."

The softball program saw great success in the eight years under Clint Myers' tutelage including national championships in 2008 and 2011. Myers coached the top three all-time leaders in wins, saw those same pitchers throw four perfect games and the bullpen throw 13 no hitters.

In seven appearances in eight years, Myers went 14-10 in the Women's College World Series and in the eight NCAA Tournament, Myers was 53-15 overall and 30-3 at home.

Since Myers took over in 2006, 19 players have been named All-Americans, 13 of which were first teamers, there have been 11 Academic All-Americans, 21 first team all-conference selections, 37 conference players of the week, four conference players of the year, as well as being named the Pac-10 Coach of the Year twice.

Myers picked up his 400th career win in 2013 and will be leaving the Sun Devils with a 427-102 record, third on the all-time wins list for the program and 113-59 in conference play. He was the third head coach in program history behind Mary Littlewood and Linda Wells. With Myers' leadership, the program finished in the Top 10 in the polls seven of his eight years.
