What is one of your favorite quotes and why? Jack Reacher said do it once and do it right. Not sure if that was a book or the movie but I like it for obvious reasons.
What chore do you absolutely hate doing? All of them but dishes are the worst.
What is your favorite form of exercise? Chasing my children. Sometimes it's like herding cats.
Who has been the biggest influence on your professional career? My wife has always been my biggest source of advice both personal and professional.
If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be? The next ASU softball national championship.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? Drive a racecar.
If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would it be? My Grandpa Nicholson.
If you could know the answer to any question, besides “What is the meaning of life?” what would it be? How will my children's lives turn out and will I have done enough to prepare them for what ever they have to face.
When you have 30 minutes of free time, how do you pass the time? What is free time?
What did you do growing up that got you into trouble? A lot of things. Mostly just boys being boys.
Would you rather see a movie at the theater or at home on DVD? Why? Theater- it's all about the experience.
What’s your favorite TV show of all time and why? Jack Bauer is the best tv hero ever.

What are your hobbies? I love to watch sports whenever I have time.
Name one thing about yourself that most people don’t know...I am an avid reader. Mostly fiction but I also like to read things that make me a better planner.
Sun Devil "story" that has put a lump in your throat: Has to be the Robles story. Simply amazing.
Job where you learned the most from the experience? My first year at Ball State. The only losing season I have ever had. Losing teaches you a lot, most importantly that you never want to do it again.
What was the first job you had? Painting houses

If you could live during any time period when/where would it be and why? I would go back about 10 years before the explosion of technology

What was the single-biggest challenge of your professional life to date? Rebuilding a program from NCAA probation to what I would call a model program in the MAC

How do you like your steak cooked? Medium rare
My breakfast consists of...Bacon and eggs on a good day. Toast most of the time

Besides softball, what is your favorite sport to watch? All of them but nothing beats a Saturday of college football.
If you stepped into the batter’s box against one of your pitchers, what do you think the result would be? I'm taking them deep if it takes all day.
What is your favorite food? Steak. No contest.
What is your favorite restaurant? Any steakhouse.
What has been your favorite moment as a head coach? The 2005 national championship at CAC (Central Arizona College). We won on an 8th inning walk off against a team that was better than us and 10 minutes after the game it was pouring rain.
What do you miss the most about being a kid? Spending every day with your friends and just playing with nothing to worry about.
What is the hardest thing that you have ever done? Physically- running a half marathon; emotionally- helping a player through the loss of a loved one.
What is your favorite candy? Snickers.
One sentence to describe your children...They are the four best things I have ever done in my life yet they all find ways to drive us crazy.
What is a place that you have always wanted to visit? Italy.
Did you play any sports in high school or college? High school was hockey, football, and wrestling. Club baseball every summer and 2 years of football in college.
What is your favorite ice cream? I know this is boring but its vanilla.
What is one thing about coaching ASU that you look forward to? Working with great athletes every day and having a support structure that allows me and my staff to coach and recruit rather than spend time on many other things.
