TEMPE, Ariz.- The Arizona State softball program, led by first-year head coach Craig Nicholson, has announced its fall schedule for the 2013 season:
Nicholson became just the fourth head coach in the program’s history, coming to ASU after spending seven seasons as leader of Ball State where he amassed a 241-162 record. Over the span of his entire career Nicholson holds a record of 964-252.
The Sun Devils finished last season with a 50-12 overall record resulting in their 11th WCWS Appearance. The team began the year by rattling of 21-straight victories and ranked in the Top 15 in the NFCA poll the entire season, earning a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Starting pitcher and former National Champion Dallas Escobedo returns this season to help lead ASU back to success after being named First-Team Pac-12 All-Conference in 2013, as well as teammate Amber Freeman who took home Pac-12 Player of the Year Honors. Over the offseason Freeman was named to the USA Softball Women’s National Team roster.
