Local product who led Chaparral to three state championships and tied for first place in his sophomore season before falling in a playoff. Posted four top-10 finishes in American Junior Golf Association play and was named to the Arizona Jr. America's Cup Team in 2010. Had three holes-in-one, including one in the Callaway Junior World Championship and another in the Heather Farr Classic. Was the 2011 champion of the AGA FatherSon Tournament and had four first-place finishes in the IJGT and FCWT tours and finished fourth at the 2008 IJGT Tournament of Champions. An all-state pick in all four seasons of high school play.

Best round of the season was a 5-under 66 in the first round of 2012 ASU/Thunderbird Invitational...averaged 3.22 in par 3s, a team best 4.17 in par 4s and 5.06 in par 5s in his freshman season...posted 82 birdies on the year with one eagle...led team with 72.80 first-round scoring average and 74.80 final round average.
BIG WEEKEND AT 2012 CALLOWAY MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP
Austin had as good of a weekend as you can get in a match play competition in the 2012 Calloway Match Play Championship held March 18-20 at the Concession Golf Course in Bradenton, Fla., as he won all four matches. He beat Yaroslav Merkoluv of Duke (2 and 1), then topped Ben Green of Kennesaw Statate (1 up) and Max McKay of Liberty (3 and 1. In the final match he defeated Mike Wuertz of Colorado State 1-up.
PART OF 2011 PATRIOT ALL-AMERICA CHAMPIONSHIP
Austin was part of the first Patriot All-America Championship held Dec. 28-30, 2011, at the Wigwam Resort (Gold) in Litchfield Park, Ariz. He shot a even-par 213 (69-72-72) to finish tied for 13th in the 72-player field.
