OJAI, Calif.--The 24th-ranked Arizona State women’s tennis team (18-7, 5-5 Pac-12) opens up the 2014 Pac-12 Championships in Ojai, Calif. The Championships, held in conjunction with the 114th Annual Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament, runs from April 24-27th at the Ojai Valley Athletic Club and Liberty Park Tennis Courts.
Sophomores Desirae Krawczyk, Stephanie Vlad and freshman Kassidy Jump will compete in the Pac-12 Singles Championship bracket. Krawczyk leads the Sun Devils ranked 55th in the nation in the singles rankings and holds a 20-3 singles record in dual matches playing in the No. 2 position. Scottsdale native Vlad is ranked 68th overall and has played No. 1 for Arizona State the entire season.
The 32-player singles draw consists of three players from each of the top-10 schools that sponsor women’s tennis and two players from the 11th-place team, based on the regular season standings. The 16-team women’s doubles draw will have one doubles team from each of the 11 schools and five additional teams selected by the Draw Committee.
On Sunday, the Pac-12 Networks will televise singles play live starting at 10 a.m. PT. Doubles play will be televised on taped delay with the broadcast starting at 7 p.m. PT
