TEMPE, Ariz.- The Arizona State women's basketball team wasn't able to pull out a win in overtime losing to Arizona 76-67 Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena. The Sun Devils fall to 10-11 on the season overall, 4-8 in Pacific-10 Conference games. The Wildcats improve to 13-8 overall, 8-4 in conference action.

The Sun Devils started the game off 6-0, but the Wildcats then went on a 13-0 run to take the lead. Arizona would continue to hold the lead throughout the first half, but ASU was able to tie the game at 27 points going into halftime.

In the second half ASU got off to a slow start, at one point trailing by 11 points. Then two consecutive fouls on center Rachel Holt late in the half tied the game at 59 points as Holt made three of the four free throws.

However, in overtime the Sun Devils turned the ball over five times, which the Wildcats took advantage of to lead the game 68-59. A lay-up and free throw by forward Theresa Jantzen and three straight free throws by guard Natalie Tucker put the Sun Devils within five points, but then fouls on guards Michelle Tom and Tucker allowed Wildcats Reshea Bristol and Felecity Willis to put the game at 74-67 with their four free throws. Arizona forward Angela Lackey then made a lay-up with five seconds left to cap the game at 76-67.

"We played good defense, but didn't capitalize on the offensive end," ASU head coach Charli Turner Thorne said. "The turnovers in overtime really hurt us. I think it was lack of experience and a bit of fatigue down the stretch which made the difference."

The bright spot for the Sun Devils was Jantzen who had her second consecutive "double-double" with career-highs of 24 points and 16 rebounds. Jantzen has made 21 straight free throws dating back to the Jan. 28 game against California. Guard Kitch Kitchen had a career-high eight rebounds with six assists. Holt had 11 points and eight rebounds.

Bristol led the Wildcats with 20 points, while Lackey pitched in 16 points and seven rebounds. Willis and guard Lisa Griffith had 10 points a piece. Arizona State will play its last home games Feb. 25 against Stanford and Feb. 27 against Cal at 7 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena.
