TEMPE, Ariz. -- Junior shortstop Willie Bloomquist was named a first-team All-American while senior third baseman Andrew Beinbrink was a third-team selection as Collegiate Baseball announced its 1999 Louisville Slugger All-Americans.

Bloomquist, a native of Port Orchard, Wash. and the Pac-10's 1999 Player of the Year, hit .394 this season and led the team in hits (100), walks (50), triples (8), total bases (164) and runs scored (95). He started in all 60 games for the Devils and stole 32 bases on the year. He was honored as a GTE/CoSIDA District 8 Academic All-American earlier this year as well.

Beinbrink, who hails from San Diego, Calif, hit .402 on the year and led the team in RBI (85), doubles (22), slugging percentage (.692) and homeruns (14). He ended his four-year career at ASU as the school and conference career leader in RBI. He started in all 60 games for the Devils and finished second on the squad in hits with 94. He is a 1999 first-team all-conference selection as well as a semifinalist for the Rotary Smith College Baseball Player of the Year.
