TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State University seniors Andrew Beinbrink and Katy Propstra have been awarded the 1999 Bill Kajikawa Oustanding Senior Award, Director of Athletics Kevin White announced today. The awards will be presented at the graduation luncheon on May 14th.
Beinbrink is a four-year letterwinner with the Arizona State baseball team. This season, Beinbrink has become the career leader at ASU in several categories, including runs scored, total bases and RBI. In addition, Beinbrink is also second all-time at ASU in doubles, and ranks in the top 10 in six offensive categories in the Pacific-10 Conference. He is a two-time first-team all-conference selection and was a member of the All-College World Series team last season, where the Sun Devils finished second.
Propstra is a four-year letterwinner for the Arizona State women's tennis team. This season Propstra, a returning All-American, has a singles record of 22-10 overall and posted an 8-5 record in Pac-10 matches. The doubles duo of Propstra and freshman Allison Bradshaw are currently ranked 24th in the nation and posted a 16-12 overall record and an 8-7 mark in duals.
The Bill Kajikawa Outstanding Senior Award is presented annually by the Varsity A Association.
