TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State's sophomore 1B Brett Wallace was named the Pac-10 Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Wallace is the fourth Sun Devil to be honored with a weekly Pac-10 award so far this season.

The Sonoma, Calif. product continued to show off his batting prowess during the first weekend of Pac-10 play, going 7-12 (.583) with three home runs, five RBI, six runs scored and four walks as the Devils took two out of three at USC. Wallace, the Pac-10 leader in most offensive categories, is hitting .466 with 10 homers and 40 RBI so far this year.

The Pac-10 Player of the Week honor is the first of Wallace's career. He is the 81st Sun Devil all-time to be named a Pac-10 Player of the Week. He joins Josh Satow, Brian Flores and Kiel Roling as ASU players honored by the conference so far in 2007.
