PULLMAN, Wash. - Right-hander Trevor Williams threw a complete game shutout to lead the 23rd-ranked Arizona State baseball team to a 2-0 win over Washington State on Saturday at Bailey-Brayton Field in Pullman, Wash.

Williams (8-2) earned his team-leading eighth win after walking none and striking out four. He gave up no runs on seven hits in his second complete game of the season and has now thrown 11 2/3 scoreless innings in three career appearances against the Cougars.

Williams has not walked a batter in 25 consecutive innings dating back to April 6 against Oregon State. He also pitched a complete game shutout with no walks in a 4-0 win over USC on April 14.

The Sun Devils (26-16, 11-9) scored the first run of the game in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Andrew Aplin to take a 1-0 lead. Drew Stankiewicz led off the frame with a walk, and advanced to third on a passed ball and a groundout before Aplin brought him around with the team's second hit of the day.

Aplin stole home in the eighth inning to extend ASU's lead, 2-0. He reached base on a walk, advanced to second on a wild pitch and moved to third on a groundout.

Cougars (21-18, 7-9) starting right-hander Tanner Chleborad (3-1) took his first loss of the season after allowing two runs, both unearned, on three hits in 7 1/3 innings.

The Sun Devils take on Washington State in the series finale on Sunday at Bailey-Brayton Field. First pitch is slated for 12 p.m. and Sun Devil Sports Network will have the call on The Fan AM 1060.

WSU - LHP Joe Pistorese (2-2, 2.89 ERA)

Game notes: It was first time a Sun Devil has stolen home since Zach Wilson on Feb. 26, 2011, against Delaware...attendance was time was 2 hours, 13 minutes.
