Baseball Bloodlines: Jimmy is a cousin of former Sun Devils Brett and Greg Bordes. Brett is a pitcher in the Baltimore Orioles Minor League system while Greg is currently a graduate manager for ASU Baseball.

2010 (Junior): Appeared in 10 games as a batter, 16 as a pitcher including five starts...had a 1-0 record on the mound with a 4.73 ERA in 32.1 innings...hit .333 (5-15) with a homer and four RBI...drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 18th round (551st overall) of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft.

Junior College: A 2009 graduate of Central Arizona College in Coolidge, Arizona...was the 2009 ACCAC Player of the Year as well as a First Team All-Region, First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-American...also won a Gold Glove Award...pitched and played outfield for CAC...helped lead CAC to the Arizona Junior College State Championship in both 2008 and 2009...CAC finished third in the 2008 Junior College World Series, where Patterson was named to the All-Tournament Team...hit .361 in his junior college career with 15 homers and 78 RBI...went 12-2 on the mound for CAC in his sophomore year, fanning 117 batters and throwing five shutouts and seven complete games...teamed with current Devils Josh Spence and Xorge Carrillo at CAC.

High School: A 2007 graduate of McClintock High School in Tempe...earned four varsity letters as a two-way player...a three-time All-Region selection and a two-time Tempe All-City choice...was also twice an All-State selection...hit .566 with 10 homers and 40 RBI during his senior season on his way to being named MVP of the 4A-1 State Champions...was the 2007 4A-1 Player of the Year and a Second Team All-American...was named the 2007 Arizona High School Player of the Year.

MLB Draft: A 34th round pick (#1,038 overall) by the Boston Red Sox in the 2009 Major League Baseball draft.
