Pink Game, Oregon Schools; Volleyball Hosts Big Weekend.

TEMPE, Ariz.- The Sun Devil volleyball team returns to Tempe to host Oregon State on Friday, Oct. 4 in the annual Pink Game at 6 p.m. Arizona State will face off against No. 21 Oregon Sunday, Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena to close out the weekend.

Fans that wear pink to Friday’s match will receive $3 admission and students are free with an ID. Both games against Oregon State and Oregon will be featured on Pac-12 Networks.

The Sun Devils return to the friendly confines of Wells Fargo Arena where the team holds a historical advantage over this week’s opponents. At home against Oregon State, ASU is 21-6, and against the Ducks they are 16-11. No. 15 Arizona State (12-2, 1-1 Pac-12) is a perfect 4-0 at home this season and looks to improve that record over the weekend.

About the Oregon State Series

ASU hold the advantage on this matchup, leading 39-17 dating back to 1985. The last time the two teams met was Nov. 8, 2012 in Corvallis with ASU sweeping the Beavers 3-0. While Playing in Tempe, the Sun Devils are a dominant 21-6 against OSU.

About the Oregon Series

The Sun Devils lead thus series 35-19 dating back to 1986. Despite holding the series lead, ASU has not beaten Oregon since Oct. 26, 2007, when they took a 3-1 win in Tempe. In the last ten matchups, ASU is 0-10 against the Ducks. ASU does have home court advantage, leading the series in Tempe 16-11


Sophomore outside hitter Macey Gardner ranks first in kills in the Pac-12, fifth nationally, averaging 4.95 per set, 198 total.

ASU ranks first in the Pac-12 in opponent hitting percentage, with opponents averaging a mere .115.

ASU second in the conference in digs with 689 (15.66 avg/s)

The Sun Devils are third in the conference in service aces with 66 (1.50 avg/set) with a season-high 10 against Alabama St. There are three players with 10 plus aces on the year (Preach, 15; Arellano, 13; McCready, 12)

ASU’s .374 attack percentage against ULM (Sept 21, 2013) is the fifth-highest performance in ASU history (rally scoring)
