Senior outfielder Mitch Jones was named a first-team All-America selection on the USA Today/Baseball Weekly 2000 All-America College Team. Junior catcher Casey Myers was named to the second-team.

Jones, from Orem, Utah, leads the nation in homeruns with 25 on the year. Jones' 25 homers ties the ASU single season record held by Bob Horner (1978). He leads the team and conference in runs scored (72) and RBI (82) and is ranked in the top 5 nationally for RBI per game (1.58).

Myers, from Casa Grande, leads the squad with a .413 average at the plate and ranks in the top 10 nationally in RBI (1.52 per game). His on-base percentage of .510 is also tops in the Pac-10 conference.

The Pac-10 had four players named to the first team (Jones, ASU, Justin Wayne, Stanford, Bill Scott, UCLA, and Ben Diggins, Arizona).

College writer Dana Heiss Grodin picked the players based on their speed, power and excellence as a team player.
