Devils vs. Oregon
The Sun Devils are 11-5 all-time against Oregon and swept the Ducks last time the two teams faced off at Packard Stadium in 2011, winning 5-2, 3-1 and 8-0. ASU was swept last season in Eugene, Ore., losing 0-1, 1-3 and 3-4. Right-hander Trevor Williams went seven innings, but took the loss after striking out four and giving up three earned runs on six hits in game two of the series. Outfielder Kasey Coffman had two hits and scored two runs in a one-run loss in the series finale.
Wichita State Recap:
The Sun Devils won both midweek games at Wichita State on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. Freshman RJ Ybarra knocked a two-out RBI single through the middle in the top of the ninth inning and freshman RHP Ryan Burr recorded his sixth save of the season to secure a 4-3 win over the Shockers on Tuesday night. He is now tied with Ryan Bradley (1995) for fourth on the school's freshman saves list. ASU scored four runs with two outs in the opening inning of Wednesday's to hold on for a 4-2 win. Right fielder Trever Allen went 2-for-4 with his fifth triple of the season, which is tied for the most in the Pac-12, and drove in three runs to power the Sun Devils offense that was held scoreless over the final 8 1/3 innings. Starting right-hander Alex Blackford (1) posted his first save of the season and the third of his career after throwing a perfect ninth inning.
