TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - This weekend's Arizona State-Louisiana State series matches two of the nation's top offenses in one of the first big showdowns of the season.

The three-game series between the teams, both ranked in the top 10 in the three major national polls, starts Friday in Tempe, with the Sun Devils (13-2) looking to extend their streak of 332 consecutive games with at least one run scored.

Arizona State has not been shut out since a 9-0 loss to Southern California on April 7, 1995, and is just 18 games from breaking Coastal Carolina's Division I record.

The Sun Devils have outscored opponents 165-49, and senior catcher Casey Myers is a major reason. Myers, last season's Pac-10 Player of the Year, is batting .453 with 28 RBIs and leads an offense that is hitting .376.

But the Tigers (10-2), the defending College World Series champions, also have a potent offense.

The Tigers have had 10 or more hits in each of their previous six games and is hitting .371 with 22 home runs, led by first baseman-designated hitter Zeph Zinsman. Zinsman, a transfer from Mission Junior College (Calif.), hit three homers Feb. 23 against Duquesne.

Louisiana State won two of three games last season in the teams' first meeting.
