Arizona State junior shortstop Willie Bloomquist was named the 1999 Pacific-10 Conference Baseball Player of the Year, while junior lefty Barry Zito earned Pitcher of the Year honors in a vote of the conference baseball coaches.

Bloomquist, a junior from Port Orchard, Washington, ranked among the top five Sun Devils this year in several offensive categories: batting average (.394-3rd), slugging percentage (.646-2nd), on-base average (.495-3rd), runs scored (95-1st), hits (100-1st), RBI (84-2nd), doubles (18-2nd), triples (8-1st), homeruns (10-3rd), total bases (164-1st), walks (50-1st) and stolen bases (32-2nd). He also led the Sun Devil squad in multiple-hit (32) and multiple-RBI games (24). Bloomquist also became the first ASU player to tally back-to-back 100-plus hit seasons (109 in 1998) since Kevin Romine did it in 1981 (102) and 1982 (121). At one point this season, Bloomquist owned a 19-game hitting streak (April 3-May 15) in which he hit .452 (38-for-84) with 35 runs scored, 34 RBI, seven homeruns, three doubles, three triples and 10 stolen bases. Bloomquist was honored as one of Arizona State's Co-Players of the Year, along with Andrew Beinbrink.

Senior Andrew Beinbrink was named to the Pac-10 all-conference team for the third straight year. Senior righthander Chuck Crumpton, sophomore outfielder Jeff Duncan, junior second baseman Mark Ernster and freshman lefty Jon Switzer were honorable mention selections.
