SUN DEVIL NOTES AND STATS FOR USC TILT Get Acrobat Reader

SUN DEVILS MEET TROJANS
The Sun Devil men's hoops team (20-9; 9-7) plays a FOX Sports Net noon PT game on Saturday (March 2) at USC. Steve Physioc and Corey Williams have the FSN duties. ASU is 5-3 against the other top six teams in the league, with a sweep over Colorado and single wins over UCLA, USC and California. ASU lost a tough overtime game to UCLA on Thursday 79-74 despite Jahii Carson's 22 points and seven assists and Carrick Felix's 16 points and 18 rebounds, the most by a Sun Devil player since the 2006-07 season. ASU has won three straight vs. USC for the first time since it won four straight vs. the Trojans in 1979-80 and 1980-81 seasons.

JAHII NOTE
Freshman Jahii Carson is averaging 17.7 points and 5.1 assists. Only one freshman in the past sixteen years has averaged 17 points and five assists (Ben Woodside, 2005-06, North Dakota State, 17.5 ppg./5.1 apg). Previous to Woodside, the last freshman to notch those digits was Shaheen Holloway of Seton Hall back in 1996-97, when he finished at 17.3 points per game and 6.3 assists.

ROAD GAME NUMBERS
In the seven Pac-12 road games Jahii Carson is averaging 21.3 points, 38.4 minutes and is shooting .517 (60-of-116) from the field. In the SECOND HALF of Pac-12 road games he is at 12.7 points, 33-of-60 from the floor (.550) and 6-of-10 (.600) from three.

20-POINT GAMES
Jahii's 13 20-point games is second-most by a freshman in Sun Devil history, trailing only James Harden who had 16 in 2007-08. Jahii now has five 20-point games on the road. James Harden (2007-08), Ike Diogu (2002-03), Jamal Faulkner (1990-91) and Steve Beck (1983-84) all had four to set the ASU freshman pace.

Evan Gordon had 28 points, Jahii Carson had 21 and both Carrick Felix (16 points/10 rebounds) and Jonathan Gilling (13 points/11 rebounds) had double-doubles in the win. USC made three three-pointers in the final 22 seconds to erase a six-point lead and force overtime.
