TAINAN, Taiwan -- Arizona State rising junior Travis Buck will take part in a live chat on BaseballAmerica.com on Friday morning at 8 a.m. Buck is in the midst of a stellar summer season with the USA Baseball National Team in a quest for a gold medal at the 2004 FISU World University Baseball Championship in Tainan, Taiwan.
Team USA recently completed pool play with a perfect 6-0 record and will play in the semifinals against Korea or Chinese Taipei on Saturday at 5 p.m. local time (2 a.m. Arizona).
Buck (Richland, Wash.) will join Team USA teammates J. Brent Cox (Texas) and Ryan Zimmerman (Virginia) for the live chat from the Tayih Landis Hotel in downtown Tainan.
The 2004 First-Team All-Pac-10 selection is second on the team in hitting at a .419 (26-for-62) clip with two doubles, two home runs and 14 RBI. He has recorded at least one hit in 18 of 21 games and is tied for the team lead with five stolen bases. He is hitting .421 (8-for-19) with a triple and three runs scored during Team USA's impressive sweep through pool play.
Buck helped lead Arizona State to 41-18 record this past spring and was second on the team hitting .373 (84-for-225) with nine home runs and 49 RBI.
