TEMPE, Ariz. (www.TheSunDevils.com) -- USC catcher Jeff Clement went 4-for-5 and hit a two-run home run to lead the Trojans to a series clinching 10-3 victory over No. 10 Arizona State Sunday afternoon in Pac-10 Baseball action at Packard Stadium.

USC bounced back from a 10-3 defeat on Friday to win the next two games to win the series. The Trojans improved to 15-15 overall and 2-1 in Pac-10 play. ASU lost its third consecutive Pac-10 home series to fall to 22-9 overall and 3-6 in league play. USC outscored the Sun Devils 24-8 over the final two games of the series.

Clement gave the Trojans nearly all the runs they would need with his two-run blast to the opposite field in the first inning. He fell just a triple short of hitting for the cycle, with singles in the fifth and seventh innings and a double in the eighth.

USC reliever Bret Butler picked up the win giving up three hits in 4.2 scoreless innings. Sophomore starter Bobby Paschal had one of his better outings of the year despite picking up the no-decision. Paschal struck out five and walked five in 4.1 innings.

Sun Devil senior starter Jeff Mousser (Tempe) was saddled with the loss to fall to 1-2 on the year. Mousser gave up five hits and five runs in four innings of work. Freshmen relievers Quentin Andes (0.1 IP, 4 H, 3 R) and Pat Bresnehan (2.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R) were roughed up out of the bullpen. Sophomore Erik Averill (Orange, Calif.) closed out the game with two scoreless frames.

Senior second baseman Nick Walsh (Alamo, Calif.) completed a solid weekend going 3-for-4. Walsh hit .714 (10-for-14) with five runs scored and two RBI against the Trojans. Junior third baseman Josh Asanovich (Gold Canyon) added two hits in the loss.

ASU will take a week off from Pac-10 play with a three-game, non-conference series against nationally ranked Oral Roberts (23-6). The series will run Thursday (7 p.m.), Friday (7 p.m.) and Saturday (1 p.m.) because of the Easter weekend. The Devils will then play the University of Arizona in a non-conference game on Monday, April 12 before heading on the road for 16 of their last 21 games.
