TEMPE, Ariz. -- The ninth-ranked Arizona State women's tennis defeated No. 21 Wisconsin, 8-1, today at the Whiteman Tennis Center on the ASU campus.
The Sun Devils (8-3; 2-3 Pac-10 South) dropped only one singles match and swept all three doubles.
Three-time all-American Reka Cseresnyes beat Wisconson's Barbara Urbanska, 6-3, 6-4 playing the No. 1 position. All six singles matches were decided in two sets. Sun Devil Freshman Karin Palme defeated the Badgers' Tracy Zobrist, 7-6, 6-0.
Arizona State earned it's first victory since losing a close match to No. 2 Stanford on Saturday. Next for ASU will be a trip to Southern California this weekend to take on UCLA and USC. Wisconsin ((9-6; 4-0 Big Ten) will next play the University of San Diego.
