Still in the hunt for a postseason berth, Arizona State squares off on Wednesday against a Washington team that sports a 22-5 overall record and ranks fourth in the conference with a 13-5 tally. ASU has yet to face Washington this season. The Huskies are led offensively by Krista Vansant who averages 4.11 kills per set, just below ASU's Macey Gardner's 4.48 k/s. Defensively ASU will have its work cut out for them with UW's Amanda Gil who leads the conference in blocks per set (1.74) and ranks third nationally in the category. As a team, Washington paces the nation in blocks per set with 3.27.
The season will be capped with a rivalry when ASU returns home on Friday to face off against Arizona (16-13, 8-10 Pac-12). U of A got a jump on this Territorial Cup Series with a 3-1 win over ASU on Sept. 18, which was the opening match of the Pac-12 slate. Despite the loss earlier this season, ASU leads this series 46-43 dating back to 1973 and the Sun Devils are 23-15 when playing at home.
Sarah Clause: Played for the Sun Devils in 2011 after transferring from Long Beach State. During her senior season, Sarah redshirted due to injury but still contributed as a vocal leader on the bench. Her best stats as a Sun Devil have come against this week's opponents, posting five kills at Arizona in 2011 and three digs against Washington also in 2011.
Erica Wilson: Erica has had a tremendous season for ASU, starting her senior campaign off with MVP honors at UTEP's tournament and being named to KU's All-Tournament Team. Coming into her final weekend as a Sun Devil, Erica's name sprinkles the ASU record book in seven categories and is one of only 15 Sun Devils to record over 1,000 career kills. She currently has 1,082.
