INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Junior Hailey Casper shone on Friday as she placed second overall for Arizona State in the 3-meter diving competition at the women's swimming and diving NCAA Championships.

The diver took home her first career national medal in the 3-meter competition. Casper scored 377.70 on the springboard, just under nine points behind first-place finisher Casey Matthews of Purdue. The score also broke the current school record for the 3-meter dive in a championship, previously 377.25 set by Elina Eggers in the 2011 Pac-10 Championships.

Arizona State opened and closed Friday's swimming events with two relays. The Devils began with the 200-yard medley relay, where the Devils placed 26th overall. Taylor Wohrley, Caroline Kuczynski and Lizzy Luttrell and Tristin Baxter.

In the individual events, Landgrebe continued her stellar weekend in Indianapolis by placing 19th in the 200-yard freestyle, the highest swimming finish for the Devils on Friday. The senior clocked in at 1:46.07, which was .43 seconds off of her season best of 1:45.64 that she swam at the Pac-12 Championships. Cassie Morrice came in at 23rd in the same event with a time of 1:46.32.

Kuczynski swam for Arizona State in the 100-yard butterfly. She touched 22nd overall with a time of 53.01, her second-best time on the season. Alex Popa also had a top-30 finish of her own, coming in at 29th in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:00.95, just under half of a second short of her season best.

The Sun Devils wrap up competition at the NCAA Championships on Saturday with five individual swimming events, one relay, and the platform diving finals.
