FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - The Arizona State women’s swimming team and both men’s and women’s diving teams move into one of the most anticipated weeks of the season, as they head to Federal Way, Wash. and the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center for the Pac-12 Championships.

For these teams, action begins on Wednesday, Feb. 26 and stretches until Saturday, Mar. 1.

Senior Tristin Baxter will lead the Devils just as she has done all season. She has swam the 18th fastest time in the NCAA in the 1650 free at the 2013 AT&T Winter National Championships, a mark of 16:09.76, second-best in the Pac-12 only to Lauren Baker from UCLA. She is also a favorite in this event for the Devils, which will take place at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 1.

Baxter also swam the 25th fastest time in the NCAA in the 500 free, fourth in the Pac-12, at 4:41.08. Preliminaries for this even begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27.

Hailey Casper will also be in search of a title of her own in the 1 and 3-meter dives. Last season she was the NCAA runner-up on the 3-meter dive at the National Championships with a score of 377.70 and looks to build off that momentum to win a title at Pac-12 Championships this year before hopefully once again heading off to Nationals.

Other swimmers to look out for is Melanie Busch in the 100 back, Juanita Barreto in the 200 free, Tory Houston in the 100 and 200 breast, Ingibjorg Jonesdottir in the 100 back and 50 free, and Ana Olasz in the 1650 free.

Junior Sydney Czaus will be making her first diving performance at the Pac-12 Championship and could possibly place herself in the A final in the 10-meter platform competition.

On the men’s diving side, two-time Olympian Riley McCormick will have a chance to capture three more Pac-12 titles, these in the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform dives. McCormick was a two-time Pac-12 Champion on the platform at the 2010 and 2011 Pac-12 Championships before grey shirting for the London Olympics. Last season he notched a 5th-place in the 1-meter and 3rd-place in the 3-meter at Pac-12 Championships after sitting out most of the season nursing a thumb injury.

Tickets will be available at Weyerhaeuser (650 Southwest Campus Drive, Federal Way, WA 98003) on the day of the event only. Gates open at 10 a.m. each day. All-session passes are $40 for adults and $20 for students, children and seniors. One-day passes are $15 for adults and $10 for students, children and seniors.
