Good to see Paul Casey back at work!

Check out what Paul Casey has to say as he gets ready for this weekend! Best of luck Paul!

Whistling while he works (from March 16, 2012 Golfweek)...

Sidelined since late December with a dislocated right shoulder - just ask to see the gruesome X-ray photo on his iPhone - Paul Casey made his 2012 debut last week at Doral and pronounced himself "kind of beat up." A five-hour tussle with the TPC Blue Monster, in windy conditions, exhausts even the most physically fit golfer, let alone a rehabbing one. But Casey wasn't complaining, mind you.

"It's the best injury I've ever had, considering the perspective it's given me," he said. "When you're forced to sit there, doing nothing, it kind of fueled the fire for me, stoked my love for the game. We travel all over the world, all these weeks on the road, and I started to realize that I really do miss it."

As for the shoulder? That posed no concerns at the WGC-Cadillac Championship, where Casey, 34 , tied for 51st and even had a final-round ace at No. 15. (Drinks for 25,000 close friends, anyone?) There's no pain shooting down his arm and very few, if any, limitations with his range of motion.

"It's more an issue of trying to find my golf swing again," he said. "I feel like the club is somewhere out there and I'm not sure what it's doing."

How long until he finds it? "Hopefully three weeks," the Englishman quipped, grinning, alluding to that little spring get-together in Georgia. He's most thankful that he is hungry once again, something he admits, understandably, he has not always been in an 11-year pro career. And that desire could prove quite valuable, considering it's a Ryder Cup year.

"I've got a lot of work to do, but that's kind of nice, " he said. "Sometimes, you're just beating balls and going through the motions. I genuinely have work to do."

    Hey Sun Devils,

Here are the links for this weekend. You can read about past ASU football players and their performances at Pro Day. There are some special Youtube videos from Coach West and Coach Ball at football practice and an interesting story from former head football coach Darryl Rogers and his quarterback signee, Dale Sveum. Get an inside look on what the women's basketball team will focus on during this off-season from Jeff Metcalfe and also read about the soccer team's trip to Germany last year. Finally a link for former ASU baseball player, Dustin Pedroia. Go devils!

I had a couple folks email me if Jon Gilling got overlooked for the Pac-12 All-Freshman team.

    Answer: Maybe.

Depends on how you look at it. If you go by the whole season, Jon didn't get going until around mid-December, basically when the fall semester final exams were over. But if you go by just the Pac-12 season, you can surely make an argument for him being one of the top five freshman in the league. Remember he averaged 8.8 minutes in the first eight games but is at 9.0 points in his past 21 games...

His 31.9 minutes per game in Pac-12 tilts was second among Pac-12 freshman (and seventh by a Sun Devil freshman). He went bonkers vs. Arizona on March 4 with 21 points on 7-of-8 shooting and 5-of-6 threes. He matched career-high with 39 minutes vs. UCLA on Feb. 23 and had 17 points. After playing career-high 39 minutes vs. Washington Jan. 26 and posting season-high 20 points he played 38 and had season-high seven assists in win over Wazzu on Jan. 28. He has eight double-figure scoring efforts in past 17 tilts. Check out his first nine games compared to the past 21 (18 of which were Pac-12 games).

And then compare the Pac-12 stats for the league's top freshmen below that.

One thing is for sure: the Sun Devils got a good one in Gilling. His overall stats don't show it as much, but his past 21 games and his Pac-12 games they sure do.

Sun Devil head coach Herb Sendek earned the Miami of Ohio job in the spring of 1993 at age 30.

Three years later he took over the NC State program at age 33.
