    Three Pitchforks of the Week

Bronze Pitchfork - Matt Newman (Baseball)

Matt Newman was the catalyst in Arizona State taking two out of three from the SEC's Auburn Tigers at Plainsman Park in Auburn. Newman went 5-11 (.455) and slugged an amazing 1.182. He slammed two homers in the win on Saturday, driving in four runs. He also doubled twice in the series, drove in five and scored four times. He also played little ball, twice laying down perfect sacrifice bunts to move runners into scoring position and played stellar defense in both right and left field.

Silver Pitchfork - Anna Jelmini (Women's Track & Field)

In her first NCAA appearance, Jelmini placed fifth in the shot put with a personal-best toss of 17.08m (56-00.50) to earn All-America honors and score the only points the team accumulated at the 2011 NCAA Indoor Championships. Jelmini entered the event as the 14th-ranked individual in the shot put and moved up to finish fifth with a toss that ranks third all-time in in Sun Devil history and is one of four marks of 17-meters or better.

Gold Pitchfork - Hannah James (W Tennis)

Sophomore Hannah James' victory over California's Tayler Davis secured the upset win for Arizona State over seventh-ranked California. James fought to take the first set 7-5 but ending up dropping the second set 2-6. The sophomore orchestrated the comeback that clinched the match for the Sun Devils, defeating Davis in the third set 6-3.

Also nominated (listed alphabetically): Jordan Clarke (Track & Field, Sarah Harris (Water Polo), and Riley McCormick (Diving).
