Friday, a number of Arizona State Student-Athletes volunteered along with United Airlines employees to help the Thomas J. Pappas School celebrate the Fantasy Flight event. Every holiday season for years, United Airlines employees in communities around the world have hosted Fantasy Flights, which are magical flights that take disadvantaged or seriously ill children on a trip to Santa's workshop at the North Pole. Clowns, magicians and elves entertain the children in specially decorated gate areas and the children receive goodies and presents to take home for the holidays. Children were taken on a thirty-minute flight around the valley landing at the North Pole where the student-athletes were waiting to greet them. The student-athletes joined the children in the celebration taking them around to the various stations of activities.
The student-athletes who participated were Talor Haro (Softball), Taylor Ford (Track & Field), Daniel Duffy (Baseball), Matt Newman (Baseball), Michelle Nulliner (Softball), Jordan Swagerty (Baseball), Daniel Milner (Baseball), Jake Borup (Baseball), Jamie Sandys (Track & Field), Zach Wilson (Baseball), Andy Workman (Baseball), Harrison Ishida (Baseball), Deven Marrero (Baseball), Amanda Davies (Gymnastics), Lucy Aubrecht (Softball), Annie Lockwood (Softball), Christina Zambrana (Softball), LeQuan Lewis (Football), Jeff Helwig (Track & Field), Brett Pedley (Swimming), Camille Olson (XC/Track & Field), Renee Welty (Softball), Katelyn Boyd (Softball), Jessica Donovan (Softball) and Nikole Afusia (Softball).
