EUGENE, Ore.—The Arizona State volleyball team (9-15, 2-10 Pac-12) fell to No. 20 Oregon (15-6, 8-4 Pac-12) in four sets, 21-25, 18-25, 29-27, 20-25, on Sunday at Matt Knight Arena.

During the third set, senior transfer Maya McClendon recorded the 1,000th kill of her career. She finished the match with 10 kills, including six in the third set, and now has 1,006 kills in her career.

"Surpassing 1,000 kills in a career is no easy task and we're thrilled that Maya was able to make that accomplishment as a Sun Devil," head coach Stevie Mussie said. "She really came on strong in that third set and her performance was crucial to us extending the match."

Freshman Ivana Jeremic led the Sun Devils with 14 kills, while junior Oluoma Okaro added 11, along with a pair of service aces and three blocks. Sophomore Jasmine Koonts hit .412 on the night with nine kills and also added three blocks.

Freshman setter Nicole Peterson recorded her second career-high in assists in as many matches, finishing with 47. She also added two kills, one ace, and one block.

"We hit better in both matches this weekend, but we need to address our passing if we're going to be successful during the second half of conference play," Mussie said. "We're looking forward to getting back in the gym and playing at home in front of our fans next weekend."

Oregon's Lindsey Vander Weide led all scorers with 19 kills on .471 attacking, while Jolie Rasmussen added 12 kills and Willow Johnson hit .500 with 10 kills on 16 swings. The Ducks also had the blocking edge, 9.0 to 7.0.

Up next, the Sun Devils return to Wells Fargo Arena to host a pair of rematches with USC and UCLA on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The match against the Trojans will start at 6 p.m. PT and will be live streamed on TheSunDevils.com.

First serve for ASU's Pac-12 Network-televised match against the Bruins will be announced on TheSunDevils.com and on Sun Devil Volleyball's social media accounts.
