TEMPE, Ariz. – In the midst of the teams' winter training, the Arizona State women's swimming and diving teams host cross-state foe Northern Arizona University, who will make the two-hour trek south from Flagstaff.

THE DETAILS

The Sun Devils' final meet of 2016 will take place Friday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. at Mona Plummer Aquatic Complex (601 S College Ave. Tempe, AZ 85287). Admission is free to the public.

The meet, originally scheduled to be streamed, will no longer be streamed due to inclement weather in the Tempe area.

SCOUTING NAU

This is the first meeting between the two teams since Feb. 2, 2013, a meet the Sun Devils won, 146-91. All-time, ASU has won 17 of 18 meetings with the Lumberjacks.

This Friday will be the 11th time the two teams have faced off in Tempe.

NAU is 2-4 in duals this season, coming off two straight victories vs. New Mexico State (Dec. 3) and Idaho (Nov. 4) after losing four straight to open the season – vs. Arizona, Hawai'i, New Mexico, and Washington State.

In the most recent victory vs. NM State, NAU won 13 of 16 events, including the first nine, en route to a 168-127 win.

Last season, the Lumberjack women won the Western Athletic Conference championships.

CONFERENCE ACCOLADES

Senior Richard Bohus and junior David Hoffer were named Pac-12 Male Swimmer and Diver of the Month for November 2016. Bohus became the fourth ASU men's swimmer while Hoffer became the conference-leading 17th male diver to earn the honor.

Bohus set two new school records (100 and 200-yard back) and was a member of three winning relay teams (400 free, 800 free, 400 medley), including a 400-medley relay team that set a new program record good for an NCAA A-standard time. At the Art Adamson Invitational hosted by Texas A&M, the men improved from a fifth place finish last year to win the meet this season.

Hoffer finished first in the 1-meter dive at USC, placing third in the same event at the Texas Diving Invitational in Austin. He placed second at both USC and UT in the 3-meter event as well as in the platform dive in Austin.

LAST TIME OUT

The then-No. 11 Sun Devil men improved from fifth a season ago to win the Art Adamson Invitational at Texas A&M, swimming faster than No. 14 Texas A&M and No. 17 LSU. On the women's side, ASU moved up from eighth last year to a fourth place finish this season.

Richard Bohus broke two individual school records (100 and 200-yard back) and was a member of three winning relay teams, including another school record-breaking performance.

Fellow captain Kat Simonovic split 26.9 in her last 50 to finish second in the 500 free, also finishing third in the 200 free.

At the Texas Diving Invitational in Austin, Mara Aiacoboae won the platform dive while David Hoffer finished second in the 3-meter and platform dives.
