SAN FRANCISCO – As announced by the conference office Wednesday, the Sun Devil men sweep Pac-12 honors for the month of November as Richard Bohus has been named Pac-12 Men's Swimmer of the Month while David Hoffer receives Diver of the Month accolades.
Bohus was key in helping the Sun Devils beat then-No. 14 USC for the first time in 13 years, moving ASU from No. 24 to No. 11 in national polls.
At Texas A&M's Art Adamson Invitational, Bohus set two new school records (100 and 200-yard back) as the Sun Devils earned a comeback victory, improving from a fifth place finish a season ago.
Bohus was also a member of three winning relay teams (400 free, 800 free, 400 medley), including a 400-medley team that set a new program record good for an NCAA A-standard time. In November, Bohus earned five first-place finishes and seven second-place finishes.
On the diving side, Hoffer finished first in the 1-meter dive at USC, placing third in the same event at the Texas Diving Invitational in Austin. He placed second at both USC and UT in the 3-meter event as well as in the platform dive in Austin. Overall, he recorded one first-place finish, three second-place finishes, and a third-place finish in the month of November.
Bohus becomes the fourth Sun Devil all-time to receive Pac-12 monthly accolades while Hoffer becomes the 17th ASU men's diver. In men's diving, Arizona State leads the conference in monthly awards by 10, as Arizona has the second most with seven. This is Bohus' first such career honor while Hoffer receives the award for the third time in his career.
The Sun Devils men, currently in winter training, next compete Jan. 20 and 21 against Stanford and Cal to complete their home schedule. The women have two women's-only meets in the interim, vs. Northern Arizona (Dec. 16) and Oregon State (Jan. 7).
