TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State University's head volleyball coach Sanja Tomasevic announced on Friday that 2010 Sun Devil Hall of Fame inductee Amanda Burbridge will join the coaching staff as an assistant coach for the upcoming season.
 
"I am beyond excited to welcome back a decorated alum like Amanda Burbridge," said Tomasevic. "She brings with her an immense wealth of knowledge and experience. A member of the state of Arizona volleyball community for years, I contend there is no one better suited to represent this program."
 
A former Sun Devil volleyball standout who competed for the Maroon and Gold from 1997-2000, Burbridge becomes the first addition to Coach Tomasevic's staff.
 
A prolific outside hitter, Burbidge tallied 1,597 career kills in her four-year Arizona State tenure accounting for the fifth most in program history. Her 599-kill single-season effort in 2000 still stands as program record. She is one of only eight players in Arizona State history to conclude their career with 1,000 digs and kills respectively. Burbridge's efforts culminated in her earning a number of notable honors including the 2001 Pac-10 Conference Medal and the 2000 VolleyCentral.com co-National Player of the Year award.

Since the completion of her collegiate career, Burbridge has garnered over 16 years of volleyball coaching experience at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels. Burbridge most recently completed her eighth season as head coach at Phoenix College. During her tenure at Phoenix College, Burbridge led the program to six Regional I Playoff appearances, five Region I Finals appearances, and two region titles in 2011 & 2012. Burbridge is also the owner of Revolution Volleyball Academy located in Scottsdale, Arizona.
 
Burbridge began her coaching career at Desert Mountain High School where she led the Wolves to three-consecutive appearances in the state tournament, en route to back-to-back state titles in 2005 and 2006.

A two-time Academic All-American, Burbridge earned her bachelors' degree in Sociology at Arizona State in 2001.  
 
Burbridge currently resides in the Valley with fiancé Jordi and daughter Logan.
