TEMPE, Ariz. – Signed jerseys, a full scrimmage, facility tours and an autograph session will highlight Sun Devil Baseball's annual open house event on Feb. 12 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.
Admission and parking are free and Sun Devil Athletics ticket sales and service staff will be on hand to answer any questions and help fans pick seats for the coming season.
The Sun Devils will treat fans to a full 9-inning scrimmage beginning at approximately 12:30 p.m. leading in to the team's season-opening series against Northwestern the following weekend. Concessions will not be available during the event.
Fans can enter to win autographed Dustin Pedroia Sun Devil jersey at tables on the main concourse and the day will also include guided tours of Phoenix Muni, including the clubhouse, as well as an autograph session with the 2017 team on the concourse following the scrimmage.
All of the Devils' spring practices are open to the public and will begin approximately at 2 p.m. on weekdays. Weekend practices are scheduled for 10 a.m., though the team will not practice on Feb. 5, 9 and 13. All practice schedules are subject to time and date changes
The Sun Devils will host 33 games at Phoenix Muni this season, including notable match-ups with 2016 College World Series participants Oklahoma State and Arizona, as well as Pac-12 foes Oregon State, UCLA, Washington State and Stanford. Head Coach Tracy Smith returns for his third season boasting an impressive roster headlined by Pac-12 All-Conference selections RHP Eder Erives, OF Andrew Shaps and OF Gage Canning as well as veterans INF Andrew Snow, LHP Eli Lingos, RHP Ryan Hingst, LHP Zach Dixon and OF Tyler Williams. The Sun Devils also won the offseason by recruiting the No. 1 class in the nation, as rated by Collegiate Baseball, making it the first non-Southeastern Conference program to achieve the honor in seven years.
