BERKELEY, Calif. – The College Triathlon Coaches Association (CTCA) has announced regional honors for the West Regional held in Berkeley last weekend and several Sun Devils earned recognition.
Grace Obando was named Division I All-West Region Freshman by virtue of being the top finishing DI freshman, fourth overall, in Berkeley last weekend.
Joining Obando on the Division I All-Region team are sophomore Charlotte Ahrens, who crossed the finish line first overall, as well as Catherine Giuseffi, who finished 15th in her first collegiate draft legal triathlon.
The Sun Devils have one more regular season race on Saturday, Oct. 7 at the East Regional Qualifier in Sarasota, Fla. before hosting the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championships in Tempe on Nov. 5.
Arizona State will host the inaugural Ignite the Fork age group triathlon the morning of the collegiate race in November. Triathletes can register for the age group race HERE.
