AUSTIN, Texas – No. 3 Sun Devil women's golf sits within striking distance of the top spot after two rounds at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, currently in second after 36 holes of play on Monday.
 
"Overall, we are pleased to be in second place after 36 holes," said head coach Missy Farr-Kaye. "We made some mistakes and learned a great deal about this golf course today. We look forward to the opportunity to compete hard tomorrow and move up the leaderboard on the final day."
 
The Sun Devils shot the second-lowest second round, a 1-under 287 behind host-Texas' 282. The No. 19 Longhorns are currently on top of the leaderboard, shooting 8-under on the day.
 
Linnea Strom was the picture of consistency, shooting back-to-back 71 rounds, currently in fifth place. Playing as an individual, Sophia Zeeb sits just behind in a tie for sixth (70/73/-1).
 
Olivia Mehaffey is just outside the top-10, currently 1-over in a seven-way tie for 14th while Madison Kerley is currently in a four-way tie for 21st (+2), improving her second-round score by six strokes (70).
 
The final 18 holes will start Tuesday with another shotgun start at 8:30 am CT/6:30 am PT, with ASU paired with Texas and No. 25 Clemson, the current first and third-placed teams.
 
The Sun Devils will tee off on holes 1A (Mehaffey), 1B (Strom), 2 (Kerley), 3A (Raquel Olmos Ros), and 3B (Roberta Liti) while Sophia Zeeb will start on 18B playing as an individual.
