TEMPE, Ariz.- Senior defender Madison Stark earned a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District® First Team for her efforts in the classroom following the 2017 regular season, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America Thursday afternoon.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees, of which Stark has been selected, advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced in December.
Stark, a fixture in the Sun Devil defense, played in 77 matches, including 76 starts, for ASU dating back to her freshman season. The Claremont, Calif., native has been a force for the Sun Devils, firing an impressive 53-career shots, including 17 on goal through her four years in the Maroon and Gold.
The Academic All-District® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
