Entering her third season with the program, Heather Udowitch looks to build on a strong 2017 season that saw the Allen, Texas native compete as a beam specialist for the Gym Devils. Currently enrolled in Barrett, the Honors College Udowitch took home NACGC Scholastic All-America honors in 2017 while also being named to the Pac-12s All-Academic second team. We check in with Heather as she readies for the upcoming campaign... 

What are you most looking forward to this upcoming season?
 
I am most looking forward to competing with the team this upcoming season because we have worked really hard, made a lot of progress, and built strong bonds with one another.
 
What are your team goals you look to achieve for the upcoming season?  
 
Our team goals include being in the Top 25 (Rankings) and beating the University of Arizona.
 
What are your expectations for the team this upcoming season?  
 
My expectations for the team this year include making improvements from last year and winning more competitions than in the past.
 
What was your favorite memory from this past summer?
 
My favorite memory from this past summer was studying abroad in London, England with my best friend and teammate, Corinne Belkoff.
 
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
 
I really want to go to Mykonos, Greece because the architecture and culture seem fascinating.
   
Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
 
Ten years from now I will be 29 and I see myself pursing a successful career in business (working with sports business or any major corporation) and having a family.
 
What sparked your love for gymnastics?
 
The competiveness and performance aspect of gymnastics really sparked the love for me.  I truly love to compete against myself and others because it pushes me everyday and gives me personal fulfillment.  I also love being able to preform in front of thousands of fans because when I compete I am internally filled with a fire of passion and happiness, and it's truly an experience of a lifetime.
 
Other than Gymnastics, what are you passionate for? 
 
I am passionate about doing my best in order to achieve success and making a difference in the world.
 
Outside of school work and practice, what do you like to do in your free time? 
 
In my free time, I enjoy shopping, laying by the pool, watching sports, and hanging out with my teammates.
   
If were given a million dollars, what would be your first purchase?
 
If I was given a million dollars the first thing that I would buy would be a beach house.

Maroon & Gold Intrasquad Schedule Change: The team's 2018 Maroon & Gold Intrasquad meet has been moved from Dec. 16 to Friday, Dec. 15 at 6:30 p.m. MT. Set to be host at Wells Fargo Arena, admission to the event is free. 

SDA Clear Bag Policy: In order to enhance public safety, Sun Devil Athletics will now enforce their Clear Bag Policy at all ticketed events hosted at SDA facilities. Fans may bring in one (1) clear bag no larger than 12" x 6" x 12" or a 1-gallon plastic storage bag. Fans are limited to one clear bag per person, along with a small clutch or purse for privacy. Please refer to the pictures above for non-approved bags.
 
Sun Devil Athletics adopted the Clear Bag policy to improve public safety at our venues and provide a great game day experience by making access at all facilities more efficient. This proactive measure will enhance security inside and outside of the athletics venues and speed up the security screening process for all fans.
