LINCOLN, Neb. – On day one of the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational, redshirt junior Maggie Ewen and junior Drelan Bramwell shined bright for the Sun Devils on Friday at the Bob Devaney Sports.

Ewen's new personal best and first-place toss of 21.04m (69-00.50) in the women's weight throw ranks ninth in the country and fourth all-time in ASU history.

Over on the track, Bramwell hit a new personal best of 6.79 for fourth overall out of 31 runners. The junior was one of eight to qualify for the 60-meter final on Saturday afternoon.

Back in the field events, redshirt freshman Kaylee Antill followed Ewen closely in fifth place with a mark of 18.20m (59-08.50) in the weight throw.

In the men's weight throw, senior Kyle Long blew away his personal best in the weight throw with a new mark of 19.24m (63-01.50). That mark now ranks fourth all-time in program history, surpassing former All-American and National Champion Jordan Clarke.

Graduate transfer Garrett Starkey placed sixth out of 21 pole vaulters with a clearance of 5.20m (17-00.75). While it was not a personal best, it was a seasonal best for the new Sun Devil.

The Devils participate in a majority of their events on Saturday afternoon, with the men's heptathlon – featuring redshirt sophomore Liam Henshaw – continuing at 9:30 a.m. CST/8:30 a.m. MST.

Field events begin at 11:30 a.m. with the women's high jump, while running events start at 11:30 a.m. CST with the women's 200-meter dash. The team will not be featured in the high jump, but will start with freshman Sha'Maya Flanagan, sophomore Melese Crozier and senior La Troya Franklin in the 200-meter event.
