TEMPE, Ariz. -- First year head coaches Sanja Tomasevic (Volleyball) and Brad Keenan (Beach Volleyball) announced on Thursday the addition of Nellie Coleman to their respective staffs as Director of Volleyball Operations.
"Nellie has an acute knowledge of the game, having competed at the highest levels of volleyball," said Tomasevic. "Given the experiences she has garnered as both a competitor and assistant coach, and the successes she has in turn earned, she will be an important asset in our evolution as a team moving forward. We are very excited to welcome her to the Sun Devil Volleyball family."
Coleman comes to Arizona State after serving as an assistant coach under the direction of Brent Crouch at the University of Portland from 2014-16. In her two-year stint with the Pilots, Coleman assisted in a number facets including player development, scouting and camp coordination, while acting primarily as the team's recruiting coordinator.

During her prolific four-year career at UCLA as a setter, Coleman garnered a laundry list of accolades. Coleman earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Sociology from UCLA in 2009.
Following her collegiate career, Coleman competed professionally oversees from 2011-2014, most recently serving as a setter for the Shanghai Volleyball Club of the Chinese Volleyball Association from 2013-2014.

During that span, Coleman helped lead the team to a number of international medals, including a gold at the 2010 FIVB World Grand Prix and a bronze medal at the 2011 Pan American Cup. Coleman also appeared in exhibition tours with Team USA in Brazil (2010), Egypt (2009) and China (2008).
