Bakersfield, Calif. -- The sixth-ranked Arizona State water polo team completed their sweep of the Roadrunner Invitational with a 12-5 win over Cal State East Bay Sunday at the John S. Hillman Memorial Aquatic Center.

Senior Alkistis Benekou lead the scoring onslaught for the Sun Devils on Sunday with three goals, closely followed by Maud Koopman and Julia Reyes who each scored a pair of goals in the Sun Devil win. In total, eight different Sun Devils scored goals on the day.

The Sun Devils jumped out to an early lead, outscoring the Pioneers 5-1 in the first quarter of play, before extending the lead to 8-2 at the half.

The two teams traded blows in the third quarter, but a two goal effort by the Sun Devils in the fourth slammed the door and sealed the ASU, 12-5, win.

In the cage, Taylor Barrett recorded nine saves, while CSEB's goalie, Nikki Vaughn, carded six.

The Sun Devils will be back in the pool on March 25th when the team will travel to face No. 4 California in Berkeley. Following that game, the Sun Devils will hit the road again to face No. 1 USC.
