PITTSBURGH – Recent Arizona State wrestling signee and three-time Arizona state champion Brandon Courtney will represent the United States at the annual Pittsburgh Wrestling Classic this weekend.

The event, held at Fitzgerald Field House at the University of Pittsburgh, pits the USA All-Star Team against the Pennsylvania All-Star Team on Saturday, Mar. 25.

In its 44th season, this event is one of the highlights of the high school wrestling season and Courtney will wrestle alongside six four-time state champions from across the country.

With a 174-3 career record, Courtney (Desert Edge High School/Goodyear, Ariz.) won his third state title this season. He was in the state title bout all four seasons, finishing runner-up in 2014. Courtney also went undefeated as a sophomore (47-0) with 37,47, 44, and 46 wins during his high school career, respectively.

Courtney, the No. 5 ranked signee in the nation in his weight class, joins a three-member signing class for the Sun Devils that includes Navonte Demison (No. 5/Bakersfield, Calif.) and Dakota Galt (Beresford, S.D.).
