TEMPE, Ariz.-- Three members of the Arizona State University water polo team were named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Conference Team, as announced by the MPSF on Tuesday morning.
Junior goalie Mia Rycraw ld the way for the Sun Devils, earning All-MPSF First Team honors, while junior Lena Mihailovic and Bente Rogge earned second and honorable mention honors.
Rycraw anchored a Sun Devil defense that allowed just 169 goals on the year to finish the season with a 6.26 goals against average, a mark that ranked fourth in the MPSF. Rycraw herself accounted for 202 saves on the year, tying USC's Amanda Logan as the most of anyone in the league.
Lena Mihailovic earned second-team honors following a season that saw the junior attacker net an impressive 45 goals. Mihailovic scored a hat-trick in eight games in 2017, including a five goal performance against Bakersfield in the later part of the 2017 regular season.
Rogge earned a spot on the 2017 MPSF Newcomer team following a breakout season for the Zaanstad, Netherlands, native. Rogge scored 30 goals in her 26 games played to finish the season with a 1.15 goals per game average, a mark that ranked No. 24 in the nation's most elite water polo conference.
The Sun Devils' season came to an end this past weekend with a fifth place finish at the MPSF Championship by way of a 13-4 win over CSUB on Sunday. The fifth place finish was no small feat, however, as the MPSF claimed four at-large bids to this season's NCAA Tournament in Indianapolis this coming weekend.
Throughout the season, MPSF teams occupied the top-five spots in the NCAA polls every week of the regular season, with ASU climbing as high as No. 4 during the 2017 season.
