TEMPE, Ariz. -- Three Arizona State softball student-athletes were honored Monday morning by being named to 2017 All-Pac-12 Academic teams, the league office announced.

Senior Margaret Stahm led the way for the Sun Devils, earning First-Team honors, while fellow senior Sashel Palacios, and sophomore Skylar McCarty each earned Honorable Mention accolades.

Stahm, a three year letterwinner for the Sun Devils, picked up her second conference academic honor Monday after being named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team following the 2016 season. The senior infielder started all but one game at first base for ASU in 2017, while also being successful in the classroom, finishing the academic year with a stellar 3.76 GPA while working towards a Management degree.

Palacios earned her second straight Honorable Mention nod, following her final season as a Sun Devil. Palacios started every game behind the plate and ranked near the top of almost every statistical category for ASU in her senior season. Palacios graduated earlier this month with a degree in Family and Human Development and plans to continue her education at Arizona State, pursuing a graduate degree in Higher and Postsecondary Education.

Sophomore Skylar McCarty rounded out ASU's selections in this season's All-Pac-12 Academic honors, receiving Honorable Mention accolades in her first year of eligibility for the award. McCarty was the Sun Devils' everyday center fielder, starting all 53 games in 2017, while also excelling in the classroom.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and appear in at least 50 percent of their team's games during the season.
