ATHENS, Ga. – After a two-hour rain delay followed by mid-match showers that moved them indoors, senior Kassidy Jump lost her match to Texas Tech's Felicity Maltby on Wednesday afternoon at Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

Maltby, ranked No. 58, won in straight sets over No. 50 Jump, 6-2, 6-2.

"Just a tough day for Kassidy," said head coach Sheila McInerney. "I think she started out a bit nervous and did not give herself a chance to settle in to the match. Unfortunately, Kassidy made too many unforced errors. Credit Maltby for being patient, and when she realized Kass was making errors, she was extremely consistent and tough.

"It was a tough one today but we are certainly proud of Kassidy, as she has had an outstanding career for ASU and has represented us well on and off the court."

In the midst of the second set, pouring rain rolled in to force the match indoors with Maltby holding a 4-2 lead. Despite hopes of a shift in momentum, Maltby went on to capture the final two necessary points for the win.

Jump wraps up her final match wearing the maroon and gold with a 20-14 record in singles, and maintains her spot at No. 6 on the ASU all-time singles' victories list with 85 total wins as a Sun Devil.

The Granite, Bay California-native finished her senior season as an All-Pac-12 First Team honoree, the ITA Southwest Region Most Improved Player, a Pac-12 Player of the Week winner in late March, and made her first-ever individual appearance at the NCAA Championships.
