TEMPE, Ariz. – Announced on Thursday, individual national champion and member of the 2017 NCAA national title team, Monica Vaughn, has been named one of four nominees for the prestigious Honda Award for Golf.

Jennifer Kupcho (Wake Forest), Andrea Lee (Stanford), and Leona Maguire (Duke) are the other three nominees.

The Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) has presented the award annually for the past 41 years to the top female athletes in 12 NCAA-sanctioned sports. The award signifies the "best of the best in college athletics" and the winner advances as a finalist for Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and the 2017 Honda Cup, which will be presented live on CBS Sports Network on Monday, June 26.

Vaughn won the individual NCAA title on Monday before helping lead her team to an incredible comeback in the semifinals en route to the program's nation-leading eighth NCAA national championship on Wednesday evening in Sugar Grove, Ill.

She became just the 12th all-time individual medalist that was also part of an NCAA title team in NCAA women's golf history, third in Sun Devil history.

Arizona State women's golf has four previous winners including Grace Park (1999), Kellee Booth (1998), and Wendy Ward (1994, 1995).

The award winner will be announced later this week following voting by administrators from over 1,000 NCAA member schools, as each NCAA member institution has a vote.
