TEMPE, Ariz. – The No. 7 ASU women's golf team prepares for NCAA Regionals hosted by Texas Tech next week in Lubbock, Texas (May 8-10).
Alongside No. 7 Arizona State, five other teams ranked in the Golfstat top-25 will compete in Lubbock – No. 2 UCLA, No. 10 Furman, No. 15 Kent State, No. 18 Texas, and No. 23 Oklahoma. UCLA and ASU are the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds in the region.
BYU, San Diego State, host-Texas Tech, TCU, UNLV, Oregon, Iowa State, Oregon State, Murray State, Georgetown, Richmond, and Sacred Heart make up the rest of the 18-team regional field in Lubbock.
A testament to the strength of the Pac-12, 10 of 11 schools that sponsor women's golf will be participating in regional competition with Stanford, USC, Cal, and Washington in Albuquerque, Arizona in Athens, Colorado in Columbus, and ASU, UCLA, Oregon, and Oregon State in Lubbock.
The 6,593-yard, par-72 Rawls Course in Lubbock was completed in September 2003 and features a 60-acre driving range. Golfweek Magazine named it the No. 4 campus course in the U.S. in September 2016.
The other three regional sites include Albuquerque, N.M. (University of New Mexico), Columbus, Ohio (Ohio State University), and Athens, Ga. (University of Georgia).
The low six teams and three individuals not from those teams from each of the four regional sites (24 teams, 12 individuals) will advance to the NCAA championships in Sugar Grove, Illinois May 19-24.
