TEMPE, Ariz. – With the weather in Arizona heating up this summer, most Sun Devil Baseball student-athletes have flocked all over the country to showcase their talents in various summer ball leagues, including five in the prestigious Cape Code League. Catch up on how the Devils are going in their respective leagues:

Spencer Van Scoyoc
Van Scoyoc is absolutely dominating for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. Racking up a microscopic 0.93 ERA for the Sox, Van Scoyoc has made five appearances, including four starts, striking out 13 in 19 1/3 innings. Of his five appearances, the lefty has never allowed more than a single run, including three scoreless outings. He has been hot as of late, helping his team to a 10-0 victory over the Hyannis Harbor Hawks by keeping the Hawks off the board and limiting them to just three hits in 6 1/3 innings.

The Monterey-native notched a hit in his first game with Newport, but went hitless for the next week. Aldrete busted the slump with a 2-for-4 performance on July 3, and is batting over .350 since.

Alec Marsh
Playing in the wooden bat-using Northwoods League, Marsh dominated in his last start for the Lakeshore Chinooks. The sophomore scattered five hits across eight scoreless innings for the Chinooks to earn his second victory of the summer. Since becoming a starter, Marsh has had a miniscule 1.80 ERA over a span of 20 innings, and has twice the amount of strikeouts (22) than hits allowed (11).

He batted .500 in that span, knocking a double and three RBI.
